1. Chu Shiao-Chieh (Carter Huang)
The son of a man hated by the kung fu world. He trained at Shaolin Temple for 18 years, where he learned "the spirit of caution, patience and forgiveness".
(He played "Silver Devil" in "Born Invincible" (1978), kung fu master in "THE 18 BRONZE MEN" (1981) and a bad wizard in Kurt Russell's "Big Trouble in Little China" (1986). )
2. Wong Lei-Chow (Su Chen-Ping)
The man who saved Shiao-Chieh. Although he was injured, he delivered a young Shiao-Chieh to Shaolin Temple.
(Actor who has appeared in many movies. He played the role of a fortune teller assassin in "THE 18 BRONZE MEN" (1981) and an old man being chased by Silver Devil in "Born Invincible" (1978).)
3. Ming Chu (Doris Lung)
Daughter of Wong Lei-Chow. She is to marry Shiao-Chieh, but she's worried about something.
(Cute actress with distinctive eyes. She co-starred with Jackie Chan in "Shaolin Wooden Men" (1976) and "Half A Loaf Of Kung-Fu!" (1978).)
4. Chief Abbot (Ko Yu-Min)
A senior monk of Shaolin Temple. He watches over Shiao-Chieh.
(Actor who has appeared in many movies. He is a "THE 18 BRONZE MEN" series regular.)
5. Shaolin Bronzemen
At Shaolin Temple, those who have finished the training menu must take the test "Fighting the Bronzemen". "Bronzemen" painted in gold are masters of kung fu. If the challenger fails the test, he shall die.
6. The 8 Masters
A group of kung fu dojo masters who hate Shiao-Chieh. They repeatedly provoke Shiao-Chieh who has finished training at Shaolin Temple. In the battles, they are quite cowardly, use weapons and attack in groups against Shiao-Chieh who fights with bare hands.

7. Liu Lin-Fung (Chia Ling)
One of The 8 Masters. She has a grudge against Shiao-Chieh because her father was defeated by Shiao-Chieh's father.

The spiritual master (of The 8 Masters) who lives in the holy mountain. She knows a lot about the kung fu world. At the last scene, she appears and reveals all of the complex relationships of the characters.

A mastermind who always wears a bamboo hat to hide his face. He incites The 8 Masters to kill Shiao-Chieh.
