（Cast）
1. Lin Zhi-ming (Jet Li)
The era of the Qing dynasty of China (1644-1912). A young monk of Northern Shaolin. He trains kung fu with extraordinary zeal.
(An action star. "Shaolin Temple" (1982) is his first movie. His wife is actress Nina Li. "Once Upon a Time in China" series, "Lethal Weapon 4" (1994), "Kiss of the Dragon" (2001), etc.)
2. Si-ma Yan (Huang Qiuyan)
A woman who has a grudge against Lord He Suo.
(A martial artist. Jet Li's ex-wife. In "Kids From Shaolin" (1984), she played a strong and beautiful woman again.)
3. Chao Wei (Hu Jianqiang)
A monk of Southern Shaolin. He is a close friend of Si-ma Yan and supports her.
(Regular in this series. He played a small role in "Shaolin Temple" (1982), but played a major role in "Kids From Shaolin" (1984) and this "Martial Arts of Shaolin" (1986).)
4. Master Shi Ren (Yu Hai)
A monk of Northern Shaolin. He is a reliable person and teaches kung fu to young monks such as Zhi-ming.
(An actor famous for the "Shaolin Temple" series. He has also appeared in other films related to Shaolin Temple. His specialty is the kung fu "mantis fist".)
5. Master Wu Lou (Yan Di-Hua)
A monk of Northern Shaolin. He is confused by freewheeling Zhi-ming.
(Regular of the "Shaolin Temple" series)
6. Lord He Suo (Yu Chenghui)
Tyrannical lord. A man notorious for his cruelty such as ignoring the law and executing prisoners. He is hated by many for that reason, and is responsible for the deaths of Zhi-ming's family.
(Regular of this series. In "Shaolin Temple" (1982), he played an evil warlord.)
